These terms apply to quotations and home-improvement services supplied by HC Home Improvements Ltd.

2. Quotations

Quotations are based on the information available and the condition of the property that can reasonably be seen at the time of inspection.

Unless otherwise stated, quotations remain valid for 30 days.

The quotation will explain the work included and the agreed price. Any work not included in the quotation will be treated as additional work.

A contract is formed when you accept our quotation in writing, including by email, text message or WhatsApp.

3. Additional work

Home-improvement work may reveal hidden damage or defects that could not reasonably have been identified before work began.

We will explain any additional work and associated cost before proceeding. We will not carry out chargeable additional work without your agreement, except where temporary action is reasonably necessary to protect people or property.

4. Payment

Unless otherwise stated in the quotation:

  • no deposit is required;
  • full payment is due on completion of the agreed work; and
  • any approved additional work will be included on the final invoice.

If you dispute part of an invoice, you must notify us promptly, explain the reason and pay any undisputed amount.

Minor snagging items that do not affect the safety or normal use of the completed work will not normally justify withholding the full payment.

5. Timescales

Any start or completion date is an estimate unless expressly confirmed as fixed in writing.

Work may be delayed by weather, material availability, hidden defects, access problems, changes requested by the customer or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We will keep you informed of any significant delay.

6. Customer responsibilities

You must provide reasonable access to the property and inform us about any known hazards, access restrictions, hidden services, fragile areas or structural problems.

Unless included in the quotation, you are responsible for obtaining any necessary planning permission, landlord approval, freeholder consent or other property-related permission.

Children, pets and visitors must be kept away from working areas, tools, ladders and scaffolding.

7. Workmanship and materials

We will carry out our services with reasonable care and skill and use materials suitable for the agreed work.

Natural and existing materials may vary in colour, texture and appearance. We cannot guarantee an exact match when repairing or extending older work.

Any workmanship guarantee will be stated in the quotation or provided separately. Manufacturer warranties are subject to the manufacturer’s own terms.

You must notify us promptly of any problem relating to our work and allow us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and correct it.

8. Cancellations

You may have a legal right to cancel a contract made online, by telephone or at your home within 14 days.

Where you specifically request that work begins during the cancellation period, you may be required to pay a reasonable amount for work already completed and materials already ordered if you later cancel.

If you cancel after the cancellation period, you may be responsible for reasonable costs already incurred, including non-returnable materials, scaffolding or other services booked specifically for your project.

Your statutory cancellation rights are not affected.

9. Liability

We are responsible for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage caused by our negligence or breach of contract.

We are not responsible for:

  • pre-existing defects;
  • damage caused by inaccurate or incomplete information provided by you;
  • problems outside the agreed area of work;
  • damage caused by another contractor or third party; or
  • events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Complaints

Please contact us promptly if you are dissatisfied with our work:

Telephone: 01775 562 710
Email: harry@hchomeimprovementsltd.com

We will investigate the issue and, where appropriate, arrange an inspection or suitable remedial work.

11. Your legal rights

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

Services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, and materials supplied must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
